While liberal media outlets tell you how to talk about politics at Thanksgiving dinner, liberal policies have given you a new hurdle: how to afford that dinner at all.
The ingredients for America’s favorite holiday involving the Detroit Lions have become substantially more expensive. Meat, poultry, and fish prices have
risen
11.9% since last year. In addition, salad dressing, seasonings, spices, bakery products, fruits, vegetables, dairy, sauces, and gravies have all risen since the COVID Thanksgiving of last year.
To add to that, turkeys are at their lowest inventory in about a decade, according to the senior director of institutional credit at AgAmerica. Even appliances and tableware are more expensive.
So, what is there to do? Perhaps the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving feast of popcorn, jelly beans, pretzels, and buttered toast looks a bit more appetizing this year. Maybe cranberries can be replaced by whatever candy was left over from Halloween. Or perhaps you can pretend to be a Lions fan for a few hours and discover that you aren’t that hungry anymore by the third quarter.
Whatever the solution may be, expect families to thank Brandon before their Thanksgiving “feast” and remember these prices when November rolls around in 2024. And be sure to save your leftovers; they may come in handy for Christmas next month.
