City of West Hollywood to proclaim May 23 ‘Stormy Daniels Day’

Stormy Daniels, the porn star at the center of several legal disputes with President Trump, will be honored on Wednesday by the city of West Hollywood, Calif., for her role in leading the “#Resist Movement” against Trump.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, will be given a key to the city. Additionally, Mayor John Duran will proclaim May 23 “Stormy Daniels Day” during an event at Chi Chi La Rue’s, an adult entertainment store.

Michael Avenatti, Daniels’ lawyer, also shared the news on social media.

“.@StormyDaniels will receive a Key to the City of West Hollywood, California tomorrow (designated ‘Stormy Daniels Day’) at Chi Chi LaRue’s at 4pm,” Avenatt tweeted.

“We should all thank Stormy for her courage and fortitude through this process! #Basta,” he continued.

Daniels has been embroiled in a legal battle with Trump concerning an alleged affair the pair had more than a decade ago. Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer, paid Daniels $130,000 for her to stay quiet regarding her relationship with Trump days before the 2016 election, but she filed a lawsuit earlier in 2018 claiming the nondisclosure agreement should be nullified because Trump didn’t sign it. Additionally, she has sued Trump and Cohen for defamation.

The White House and Trump have denied the Daniels affair.
