Three cast members from HBO’s “Game of Thrones” spent this week touring Syrian refugee camps in Greece, and urged European Union leaders to do more to help those displaced by Syria’s civil war.

Maisie Williams (who plays Arya Stark), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) left Westeros behind for the real world, and all came out of the experience with nothing negative to say about the refugees.
Headey shared her thoughts via Twitter, saying most people “behave like it’s not our problem” and “we can do better.”

“These smart, hardworking people want to go home,” Headey told Entertainment Weekly. “They want to return to their communities and to their neighborhoods. They want their children to continue their education. They want to continue their university and they are stuck. They’re stuck. And they’re unbelievably sad. Understandably. We can do better for them. We must do better for them.”
The actors toured the camps through programs set up by the International Rescue Committee. One committee worker, Kathleen Prior, documented Williams meeting a 13-year-old girl who dreams of being an actor.

“For me it is about the children … children with so much potential, so many hopes and dreams,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “Where is the humanity that makes it acceptable for them to languish in refugee camps — in Europe?”
