The Loudoun County School Board has voted not to release a report about the district’s handling of sexual assaults by a male “gender-fluid” student, proving that protecting their jobs and transgender activist talking points are more important to the school board than student safety.

The school board voted against
releasing
the report in a 6-3 vote, with the opponents of releasing it claiming to care about student privacy and the best interest of students. It is a far cry from how the school board actually handled these sexual assaults when they happened, as the board had voted to allow students to use whatever bathroom matched the gender they “identified” with.

HOW LOUDOUN COUNTY BECAME THE EPICENTER OF THE PARENTAL RIGHTS MOVEMENT

As a result, a male student raped a female student in a bathroom at Stone Bridge High School. School officials covered up the assault, as did the school board, which had police officers violently
remove
the victim’s father from a meeting. The district then moved the assailant to a new school without warning his new classmates about what happened after he had been charged with a crime. Unsurprisingly, he assaulted another female classmate.

This reflects very poorly on everyone involved in the school district. Transparency would be bad for their political careers and reputations. (One school board member who voted against releasing the report is running for the Virginia House of Delegates). So six members of the school board instead decided to let everyone know that students come last in their district. The school board makes its decisions based on what helps itself, not students, even when it means shrugging off sexual assaults in its high schools.

All of this is a direct result of the district buying into the woke talking offered by transgender activists that gender is meaningless and every student must constantly be “affirmed” no matter what. Had the assailant not “identified” as “gender-fluid” and been simply a regular male student who entered a girl’s bathroom and raped a female student, he would have been thrown out of school immediately. Instead, this was all covered up, and the assailant was allowed to look for new victims at a new school, all so his/her/their identity could be “affirmed.”

This entire scandal isn’t just criminal, it is entirely depraved. Everyone who oversaw this cover-up should be shunned from any area of life that involves making decisions for children (at the very least), as should anyone who opposes being transparent with families in the aftermath. It is unconscionable that members of the school board want to drag out this scandal and the concerns parents have for the safety of their children, and yet that is precisely what they have chosen to do.
