Space Force’s new motto is a Latin phrase meaning “always above.”
The newest United States military branch unveiled its official motto “Semper Supra” and logo, a silver delta symbol featuring the Polaris star, on Wednesday. Chief of Space Operations Gen. John Raymond tweeted out a photo of the logo along with information explaining the choice.
“We are building a new Service to secure the space domain… the ultimate high ground. Our strategic imperative is to ensure that our space capabilities & the advantages they provide the nation & our Joint and Coalition partners are always there. #SemperSupra!” Raymond said.

According to the graphic, the silver border of the delta logo “signifies defense and protection from all adversaries and threats emanating from the space domain. The black area inside embodies the vast darkness from space.”
“At the center of the delta is the star Polaris, which symbolizes how the core values guide the Space Force mission,” the graphic noted.

In January, the Space Force unveiled the branch’s new service utility uniforms, featuring a variant of the camouflage used by both the Army and the Air Force and “U.S. Space Force” embroidered above the left breast pocket. President Trump was on hand in May when the Space Force flag was first unfurled at the White House.
