President Trump on Thursday blamed Senate Democrats for slow-walking his nominees, and blamed Senate Republicans for not doing enough to fight back.
Trump started by calling Democrats “obstructionists” for demanding the maximum debate time for most nominees.

“They’re taking them out to the maximum 30 hours, that’s a lot of time,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News. “I mean, they go 30 hours and them people all vote, and it’s a disgrace.”
He said that means it can be years before some nominees finally get through.
“Chuck Schumer and the group take, you know, years to approve them. Years,” he said. “We have judges that are waiting, top of the line people, the best people in our country.”
But Trump also agreed that Republicans could be doing more to fight back against Democrats. When asked if Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., should hold the Senate in on weekends to move people along more quickly, Trump agreed.
“Well, he should be doing that, and I think he will be doing that,” Trump said.
Trump’s comments came a day after Senate Republicans advanced a resolution that would cut back debate time for most nominees to just 8 hours instead of 30. Republicans have said that would allow them to consider more nominees more quickly, but Democrats so far seem opposed to the measure, and could block it.
