Sink supporter tweets pic of himself stealing opponent’s yard sign

An unwise young Alex Sink supporter tweeted out a photo of himself stealing — and subsequently destroying — a yard sign for the Florida Congressional candidate’s opponent, Republican David Jolly.

“Just stole a David Jolly sign b/c yolo,” Michael, who uses the Twitter handle @mpwmcfly, tweeted out. “Vote Sink. ((This is a little bit illegal.))”

The photo shows a young man, who is presumably Michael, dressed in a Ron John Surf Shop t-shirt and trucker hat holding a crumpled up Jolly sign.

The yard sign thief deleted the incriminating tweet, but not before other Twitter users nabbed screenshots of his antics. Michael’s account, @mpwmcfly, has since been disabled.

It is, in fact, illegal to steal a campaign sign, and the young perp could face a misdemeanor of the second degree if caught and charged, according to Florida statutes.

The race between Jolly and Sink is almost neck and neck, according to recent polling. Both sides have received large campaign contributions from outside groups and the national parties. The election, held Tuesday, will fill the seat of Republican Rep. C.W. Bill Young, who passed away in October.
