Mika Brzezinski: Kellyanne Conway ‘doesn’t believe in what she’s saying’

MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski on Monday accused White House counselor Kellyanne Conway of deliberately misleading the public during her media interviews.

Brzezinski said that even during the presidential campaign, Conway would admit she was often uncomfortable speaking on behalf of then-candidate Donald Trump, and said today, she doesn’t personally buy what Trump is saying.

“[Conway] doesn’t believe in what she’s saying and the reason we won’t have her on this show is because a lot of what she says is either not true or she has no idea what she’s saying,” she said. “It ends up being debunked by the very White House she works for. Also during the campaign, when she was very adept at furthering Trump’s message and very talented in some ways, she also would get off the set and say she needs to go take a shower. And she would call him her client. She doesn’t believe in what she’s saying.”

Brzezinski’s comments came after the New Jersey Bergen County Record newspaper published an interview in which Conway suggested that Trump could have been spied on by way of bugged household items.

Asked to explain Trump’s recent claim that former President Obama wiretapped him, Conway said, “You can surveil someone through their phones, certainly through their television sets, any number of ways; microwaves that turn into cameras.”

Brzezinski and co-host Joe Scarborough have said in the past that they believe Conway is no longer a credible spokesperson for the White House and thus will no longer have her on their show.
