Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AK) said
parents
should be terrified of a resurgence of
COVID-19
mandates as a new variant of the virus continues to circulate around the country.
Sanders joined several other
Republican
governors in affirming that the state of
Arkansas
would not reintroduce mask mandates or close
schools
.

“The data we are seeing just on the school closures alone should terrify parents that they are even considering these things again,” Sanders said in an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News. “We know how many kids lost so much growth and achievement in their schools over the last couple of years because of the shutdowns, because of the mask mandates.”
She continued, “The idea that we have liberal activists talking about it again is absolutely crazy, and it will not happen here in the state of Arkansas.”
Sanders said Arkansas is a “90-10” state in favor of not bringing COVID-19 mandates back.
While there have been no calls from the Biden administration to reinstate COVID-19 mandates, several conservative leaders have preemptively said they will not implement any mandates in their states.
