Brian Wilson, a co-founder of the Beach Boys, asked his fans to boycott an event his former band is set to appear at because it is sponsored by a hunting group associated with Donald Trump Jr.
“This organization supports trophy hunting, which Both Al [Jardine] and I are emphatically opposed to,” Wilson said. “There’s nothing we can do personally to stop the show, so please join us in signing the petition.”

“On Wednesday 5th February, the Beach Boys are headlining at the Safari Club International Convention in Reno, Nevada,” a Change.org petition Wilson shared reads. “We will call on the Beach Boys’ record label, agent and publicists to disown the Beach Boys, and on members of the public to protest at forthcoming Beach Boys concerts, unless they do so.”
At the convention, Trump, who is a proud big-game hunter, will be the keynote speaker. A so-called dream hunt with President Trump’s eldest son is being auctioned off at the event.
“Don is looking forward to his speech about hunting and the importance of conservation at the Safari Club convention and is also proud to add Brian Wilson to the long list of liberal Hollywood elites who he has successfully triggered,” said Andy Surabian, spokesman for Donald Trump Jr.
Wilson, 77, no longer actively tours with the Beach Boys.
