California Rep. Eric Swalwell defended his appearances on Fox News following criticisms from President Trump.
On Thursday morning, Trump condemned Fox News for inviting Swalwell on Shannon Breams’s show to discuss the impeachment hearings. The president tweeted, “Why do @ShannonBream & @FoxNews waste airtime on Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell, who recently left the Presidential Primaries having attained a grand number of ZERO in the polls. I don’t even know how that is possible. Fox should stay with the people that got them there, not losers!”

During an appearance on CNN, Swalwell was asked what he thought of the relationship between Fox News and Trump. He defended his decision to appear on the network and joked that Fox was the only way his parents would see him on television.
“I have to go on that other network. It’s the only way my parents will see me on TV,” Swalwell joked.
He went on to criticize the president, saying, “He’s clearly not working. You know, he should not just be focused on this impeachment inquiry. There’s other work he can be doing on gun violence, healthcare, prescription drugs.”
Swalwell used a similar criticism that Trump is using against Democrats. The president has been bashing his opposition as “Do Nothing” Democrats and bashed Nancy Pelosi for getting “so little done.”
As Trump noted, Swalwell, 39, briefly ran for but dropped out after failing to gain any traction in the polls.
