Hannity: Bombshell about FBI lawyer under criminal investigation leaked to 'get ahead' of FISA report

Fox News host Sean Hannity asserted Thursday night’s bombshell revelation that an FBI lawyer is under criminal investigation was strategically leaked.

Hannity, a vocal defender of President Trump, claimed it was no coincidence that the reports about a low-level FBI attorney allegedly altering a document related to the surveillance of onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page broke right after the Justice Department watchdog announced a release date for his findings on possible Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuses.

“Clearly this is being leaked in advance to try and get ahead of the report that Lindsey Graham confirmed to us last night right here on this program,” Hannity said Thursday on his Fox News show, referring to Wednesday’s episode on which the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman announced Dec. 9 as the release date for Horowitz’s report. The inspector general is scheduled to testify before Graham’s panel on Dec. 11.

The unnamed FBI lawyer was forced out of the bureau once the incident was uncovered by Horowitz and is now being scrutinized by U.S. Attorney John Durham as part of his expansive criminal investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation.

Hannity said this is “exactly what we have been exposing on this show for a very, very long time” and predicted “justice is about to be served.”
