IRS: Internal Revenue Selfies?

Selifes have never been so practical.

Andrew Jarvis, an architect who splits his time working and living between New York and Pennsylvania, learned that in order to avoid New York taxes he needed to live in his Philadelphia home 51 percent of the year. Being an honest citizen, Jarvis took it upon himself to prove to the IRS that he met the requirements in case it came calling by doing something younger people do for fun: take selfies. Time-stamped selfies. With a regular old camera. At the end of his Philadelphia home’s driveway.

Amused by her dad’s practice, Jarvis’ daughter Anne decided to take it to Instagram under the name “InternalRevenueSelfies,” where it’s become a hit.

“My dad has to prove to the IRS that he lives in Philly (51%) & works in NYC (49%). The result is a series of self-timer photography masterpieces…” the Instagram bio reads.

Clever, right?

The time of day and the elder Jarvis’ activity in the photos vary — though he always seems to have a serious look on his face.

What a standup guy.
