Kamala Harris on Trump: ‘Dude gotta go’

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa — Kamala Harris has a simple message about President Trump for Democrats in north Iowa.

“Dude gotta go,” the senator for California and White House hopeful told attendees of the Iowa Democrats Wing Ding fundraiser Friday evening.

“This is so much worse than what we ever hoped it would be. We are better than this,” she added.

The refrain has been weaved into Harris’ stump speech since she said it during an event she hosted last weekend in another early-voting state: Nevada.

“I spend a lot of time also in Nevada, as you can imagine, and I was there on Saturday, and it was like the last event, one of the last events, and it was a Saturday night in Las Vegas,” she told a crowd this week in Sioux City, Iowa. “I said, ‘Yeah, dude gotta go.’ And then the next thing you know is the crowd just starts chanting, ‘Dude gotta go, dude gotta go.’”

Harris’ campaign for the presidency is based on how she is the best Democrat to prosecute the case against Trump next year, and it’s not the first time she’s suggested where he should go. When Trump last month advised a quartet of female, minority House Democrats to “go back” to where they came from, the senator recommended the former real estate mogul and reality TV star do the same.

“He needs to go back where he came from and leave that office, and so that’s why I’m running with the intention of making sure there will not be four more years,” Harris told CNN at the time.
