Fox News has fired anchor Ed Henry after an allegation of sexual misconduct.

Henry, who was recently promoted to a co-anchor of America’s Newsroom, was dismissed on Wednesday, slightly less than a week after the network said it received a sexual misconduct complaint regarding him. The complaint originated from a former employee who said the alleged incident occurred in the workplace years ago.

In a memo from Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and Fox News Media President Executive Editor Jay Wallace sent to all employees, the network announced Henry’s termination after it retained an outside law firm that independently investigated the claims.

Henry took on a new role as the co-anchor of America’s Newsroom with Sandra Smith in January. He was previously one of the co-hosts on Fox & Friends Weekend but was given the new weekday role after Bill Hemmer, who used to co-anchor with Smith, moved to the 3 p.m. time slot to fill the vacancy left by Shepard Smith.

The network also announced that a rotation of anchors will fill the void left by Henry.

Henry, 48, prior to becoming a co-anchor on America’s Newsroom, had previously served as Fox News’s chief national correspondent and as a guest co-anchor for Fox & Friends Weekend. He previously worked with CNN on Inside Politics.

In 2016, Henry took time off from Fox News after an exposé from In Touch Magazine revealed that he had a 10-month affair with a Las Vegas hostess.
