George Conway denied a rumor that he and his wife, Kellyanne Conway, had partnered to write the anonymous tell-all book about the Trump administration.
CNN contributor John Dean floated the theory that the two could have been responsible for the book A Warning, a tell-all about the Trump administration that was written by the anonymous author of a New York Times op-ed from a senior official describing the efforts to resist President Trump from within his administration.
Dean said he had read A Warning and compared it to George Conway’s column in the Atlantic and said the two had similar writing styles.
“Reading this piece while reading ‘A Warning’ by Anonymous strongly suggests Anonymous is a collaboration of Kellyanne and George Conway,” Dean tweeted. “Similar style. Anonymous told Reddit yesterday that s/he will publicly identify before Nov. 3, 2020 — Election Day.”

Conway, 56, shut down Dean’s theory, tweeting, “I wish. But no.”

The Conways hold very different political views. George has advocated for Trump’s removal from office for months while Kellyanne remains one of Trump’s most loyal supporters. George has gone as far as saying that Kellyanne was “in a cult.” Kellyanne has preferred to keep her husband out of the headlines, according to a report from Vanity Fair.
Trump chimed in on their political tensions last week, saying, “I don’t know what Kellyanne did to that guy. I don’t even know him. I met him for a second. He’s got to be some kind of a nut job. She must have done some bad things to him because that guy is crazy.”
Conspiracies about who Anonymous might be have been floating around since the New York Times op-ed was published. A former speechwriter for ex-Defense Secretary James Mattis, Guy Snodgrass, had toyed with rumors that he was responsible for the book but eventually denied that he was the author.
The real Anonymous vowed to confront Trump in person before the 2020 elections. In a post to Reddit, the author wrote, “Trump will hear from me, in my own name, before the 2020 election. As far as anonymity is concerned, I will not keep my identity shrouded in secrecy forever. I am not afraid to use my own name to express concern about the current occupant of the Oval Office.”
