Omaha’s Union Pacific names new vice president

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Union Pacific says it is naming Diane Duren as executive vice president to replace two retiring senior executives.

The Omaha-based corporation announced on Friday that Duren’s new appointment takes effect Monday, when she will also become corporate secretary.

She will take over the duties of strategic planning and administration and human resources when senior vice presidents Charley Eisele and Barb Schaefer retire in February.

Duren, a graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, is currently vice president and general manager of the corporation’s chemicals division, where she is responsible for marketing and sales activities within the chemical and petroleum industries.

Union Pacific is the nation’s largest railroad with more than 32,400 miles of track in 23 states between the West, the Midwest and the Gulf Coast.
