Police hunt for petite blond carjacker

U.S. Marshals are looking for a 5-foot-2, blond, blue-eyed armed carjacking suspect, and are asking the public’s help in finding her.

Cheryl Ann Linkins, 20, is sought by authorities in Prince George’s County on September 2008 charges of conspiracy to commit armed carjacking, robbery with a deadly weapon, first-degree assault and 10 other counts, according to court records. Linkins is also wanted on a theft charge in Charles County.

Linkins was released on the carjacking charge on $5,000 bail but failed to show up in court, according to the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

“Linkins has shown really poor judgment in not obeying court orders and getting involved in very serious crimes,” said Matthew Burke, supervisory inspector with the fugitive task force. “She’s been bouncing around the area like a pinball. We’d like the public’s help in getting her back to court before she can make any more poor decisions.”

Linkins has lived in College Park, Riverdale and Waldorf, and has worked as a waitress at various restaurants. Linkins, listed at 120 pounds, also uses the alias Sarah Marie Jerald.

Anyone with information about Linkin’s whereabouts is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Service at 301-489-1717 or 800-336-0102. Law enforcement is offering a reward for information leading to her arrest.

The Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, run by the U.S. Marshals Service, comprises 28 federal, state and local agencies from Baltimore to Norfolk. The unit has captured 23,000 wanted fugitives since its creation in 2004.
