With the release of the video game Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V on Tuesday, comedian Jimmy Kimmel came up with a new platform to get more youth on board with President Obama’s Syria policy.
On his late night ABC show Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host made Obama’s Sunday evening interview with Scott Pelley of 60 Minutes a virtual reality, dubbing their conversation over an animated poolside sequence featuring GTA characters.
“President Obama has been very focused on Syria lately, trying to get people to care enough about the fact they use chemical weapons to do something about it,” Kimmel began. “He did an interview on 60 Minutes on Sunday night — but I think that was a mistake.”
If you want to get the message out to young people, Kimmel said, you do it like this:
“We used to have ‘fireside chats’. Now we have them poolside,” Kimmel joked.
