WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration is explaining its strategy for eliminating Syria’s chemical weapons threat.

Officials are holding closed briefings and private conference calls with lawmakers, many of whom are unenthusiastic about the possibility of being asked again to authorize U.S. military action against Bashar Assad’s government.
