The United Arab Emirates’s foreign affairs minister praised President Trump for his leadership Tuesday when leaders of Middle Eastern countries gathered for a historic peace deal ceremony.
“Thank you, sir, for your leadership. And if it wasn’t for that, it would have been far more difficult for all of us to achieve,” said Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation for the UAE.

Hundreds of diplomats and government officials gathered at the White House on Tuesday afternoon to witness leaders from the UAE, Israel, and Bahrain sign the “Abraham Accords,” which officially normalizes diplomatic relations between the nations.
“Mr. President, we are humbled to represent a nation, which is only 48 years old but full of hope and wants to attract more hope in our region. Our region has suffered far too long, and we would like to show our people and our region and the world that there is some good news from our part of the world. I mean, this is one, and all the good work we’ve been doing for decades, Mr. President, with your great nation,” the UAE’s foreign minister added during remarks.
“We’ve been the strongest trading partner of the United States in the Middle East. We want to continue doing so in all fields. And this is just a clear message that more should be done between the United States and the UAE, but now, we can do it with more nations, with Israel, and so many more,” he added.
Trump said it was the “dawn of a new Middle East” when the pacts were signed.
“We’re here this afternoon to change the course of history. After decades of division and conflict, we mark the dawn of a new Middle East,” Trump said. “Thanks to the great courage of the leaders of these three countries, we take a major stride toward a future in which people of all faiths and backgrounds live together in peace and prosperity.”
