A day after a dominating 27-0 win over the Buccaneers, Ravens head coach Brian Billick turned his attention to the second week of the NFL season and the Oakland Raiders, who come to town Sunday.
“They?re getting an earful now and they will for another hour, and then I want them to enjoy it,” Billick said of his players in practice Monday. “I want them to enjoy it tonight and I want them to enjoy it all day tomorrow because they deserve that, but come 7:30 on Wednesday morning, their whole world turns black and silver.”

Billick said his players did not feel like they played a perfect game, despite the overwhelming result.
“There?s a lot to coach off of that tape,” Billick said. “We just spent [time] initially with the special teams, which was in particular a lot of things to improve on, and offensively and defensively, there?s always something to get better with. And as good a game as it was for us ? and it was, across the board, very, very good ? [there are] a lot of mistakes to correct, which is good because it is a very good teaching environment right now. … They?re bright-eyed and feel good about themselves.”
The Raiders? Monday night season opener ended too late for this edition. Oakland has been marred by instability in recent years but is hoping the return of coach Art Shell will change that.
So far, that doesn?t appear to have happened. Controversial receiver Randy Moss recently leveled criticisms of the team in a recent radio interview with Fox Sports last week.
“I?m just not thrilled with the way things are going on around here,” Moss said.
McAlister has TDs cornered: Chris McAlister, who returned an interception for a touchdown Sunday, explained how he is able to convert to running with the ball.
“Just looking for the danger,” McAlister said. “That?s pretty much what it boils down to: Run scared.”
It was the fourth interception touchdown of McAlister?s career. He offered a bit of advice to first-round pick Haloti Ngata, the monstrous defensive tackle who returned an interception Sunday 60 yards before petering out of bounds inside the 5-yard line.
“Just keeping running, big fella,” McAlister said. “All you can say is keep running.”
