[WATCH] Ron Burgundy goes curling in Winnipeg, anchors a real newscast in North Dakota

It’s Ron Burgundy as you’ve never seen him before — co-anchoring a real newscast in North Dakota and curling in Winnipeg.

As part of an extensive and highly creative advertising campaign for the upcoming film Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Will Ferrell’s famous character made several appearances over the weekend.

On Sunday night, Burgundy showed up at the Canadian Curling trials, where he tried his hand at the sport, provided some color commentary for TSN — a sports network in Canada — and showed off his gams in a kilt, according to Metro UK.

“I tell you, Winnipeg is the Paris of Canada,” he told the crowd in the arena.

On Saturday, Burgundy helped anchor the KXMB TV broadcast in Bismarck, N.D. During the 30-minute show, he bantered with co-anchor Amber Schatz and meteorologist Jared Piepenburg.

The Anchorman 2 advertising campaign has been broad. Burgundy was featured in advertisements for the Dodge Durango and appeared on Conan to sing Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s campaign song. Additionally, he is pushing to get Mount Rushmore remodeled in the likeness of his news team. Ben & Jerry’s also released a flavor of ice cream in honor of the faux news anchor, called Scotchy Scotch Scotch.

Anchorman 2 opens in the United States on Dec. 18.
