Playing it safe! Obama shows his hand. (ESPN)
Being more the intellectual (ahem) than sporty type, the blog doesn’t really know what to make of President Obama’s brackets for this season’s men’s college basketball finals. So we did what we generally do when flummoxed by athletics: We checked in with ABC News’ Karen Travers. Not familiar? Get familiar. That saucy redhead knows her sports, although she’s a White House digital reporter for the network.
Travers is sounding a little unimpressed at the Political Punch blog:
Obama’s men’s and women’s Final Four lineups are full of safe, high-seeded picks rather than upset Cinderellas.
The Kansas men’s squad is the top team going into this week’s tournament and Kentucky is also a #1 seed. Kansas State and Villanova come in as #2 seeds. His bracket is likely to match many March Madness participants.
Obama breaks it down for ESPN here, noting he got “killed” last year in the first round. So what do you think of his picks?
Travers: How’s Georgetown looking this season?
