Georgia will wrap up sending out benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program to qualified low-income residents for February in the next 11 days.
SNAP is distributed from Feb. 5-23 in the Peach State. SNAP payments will be issued to recipients’ accounts on days depending on the last two digits of a beneficiary’s client ID. For example, IDs ending in 90-99 will receive their benefits on Feb. 23.
The exact payout SNAP recipients receive depends on variables such as assets, household size, and income. The maximum payment that a household of one can receive is $291, the maximum payment for a household of five is $1,155, and $1,751 is the maximum payment for a household of eight. For each household member after eight, $219 is added.

Georgians can use their benefits to purchase eligible food items at participating grocery or convenience stores through an electronic benefit transfer card, which is similar to a debit card. Recipients can use their card to purchase eligible food products such as fruits, vegetables, bread, meat, poultry, and drinks. SNAP benefits cannot be used for products such as pet food, alcohol, and household items.
Around 1.6 million people, or roughly 15% of the state’s population, receive SNAP benefits in Georgia. Georgians who want to apply for SNAP benefits can visit Georgia’s Department of Human Services website under the Division of Family and Children Services section or call 1-877-423-4746.
