Thornton, 39, was the subject of several complaints since November 2020, with several people raising concerns that he sent them threatening or disturbing messages, the FBI said.
Thornton introduced himself as the recipients’ father in his message and said he would take leadership of a “revolutionary Army” dubbed the 3%rs, according to court documents.
“I LOVE YOU. I WILL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE. EVEN I EXECUTE JOE BIDEN FOR TREASON,” the text, in all capital letters, read.
In a separate message sent to an individual in Texas, Thornton apparently referred to himself as the “revolutionary war general” and discussed the idea to kill the president again.
“(Five) stars now. (Five) stars after I execute Joe Biden for treason,” he reportedly wrote.
Thornton also allegedly indicated that he would execute employees at D-Wave Systems Inc., a Canadian computing company.
