A staffer to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland was caught crawling on the ground as she was participating in a remote interview for NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers.
As Haaland began discussing her confirmation as the first Native American Cabinet secretary, a man dressed in a suit and holding a camera could be seen kneeling down behind Haaland, crossing the room on his hands and knees, and pausing behind a desk before the host interrupts her.
“I am sorry, secretary. I am going to interrupt you real quick,” Meyers said. “You have a staffer who fully crawled on the carpet behind you, and it is the greatest thing I have ever seen.”
“Sir?” Meyers said, beckoning the man. “Sir, we know you’re behind the desk.”

“Now, secretary, be honest,” Meyers joked. “Do you know who that man is, and are those someone else’s glasses he’s wearing?”
“We don’t have people sort of sneaking around, so, yes, I know who that is,” Haaland said, laughing.

“We’ve had giant comedy stars on this show, and not one of them has thought to have somebody crawl by in the background,” Meyers said.
