Dave Chappelle made his return to a Minneapolis comedy stage Thursday night and blasted the woke protesters who had attempted to cancel him.
Chappelle saw his Wednesday night show canceled after the venue buckled to woke social media pressure, according to a report.
“To staff, artists and our community, we hear you and we are sorry. We know we must hold ourselves to the highest standards, and we know we let you down. We are not just a black box with people in it, and we understand that First Ave is not just a room, but meaningful beyond our walls,” the venue said in a statement.

“The First Avenue team and you have worked hard to make our venues the safest spaces in the country, and we will continue with that mission. We believe in diverse voices and the freedom of artistic expression, but in honoring that, we lost sight of the impact this would have.”
“Comedy is just comedy,” Chappelle said upon his Thursday return, and he called out the majority white woke protesters trying to cancel him.
“I’d respect them more if there was at least one black person!” Chappelle, 48, said.
The comedy legend also warned a boy who wanted to go into comedy to avoid transgender jokes.
It’s confusing “when the reproductive system is made out of words and semantics,” Chappelle said.
Chappelle even confronted the protesters outside.
When one protester said his jokes were causing people to get shot, Chappelle responded in turn.

“Do you think my jokes caused the Buffalo shooter in New York and do those things?” he reportedly said.
