Nicholas John Roske, 26, made the plea in a Maryland federal court on Wednesday after the Justice Department announced he faced charges for “attempted murder of a Supreme Court Justice.”

ARMED MAN ARRESTED OUTSIDE KAVANAUGH’S HOUSE WANTED TO KILL HIM OVER DRAFT ROE V. WADE REVERSAL

Roske was arrested outside of Kavanaugh’s home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, earlier this month and told detectives that he wanted to kill the justice, expressing that he was upset over the leak of a draft opinion indicating that the Supreme Court might overturn Roe v. Wade.

The FBI found a pistol with two magazines and ammunition, pepper spray, zip ties, a crowbar, and other materials inside a backpack and suitcase Roske had with him.

Roske allegedly traveled from California to Washington and arrived at the justice’s house in the early morning hours, according to the Justice Department. When he noticed U.S. deputy marshals standing guard outside, Roske walked down the street and called a Montgomery County police hotline to say he had suicidal thoughts. He was arrested shortly after the call.

“Roske stated that he began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would kill the Supreme Court Justice after finding the Justice’s Montgomery County address on the Internet,” according to an affidavit written by FBI Special Agent Ian Montijo.

If convicted, Roske faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for the attempted murder of a U.S. judge, according to the Justice Department.
