Here are the nine House Republicans who voted to prevent government shutdown

Nine House Republicans joined the Democrats in passing a short-term extension on government funding on Wednesday.

The continuing resolution, or CR, passed 224-201. Here are the nine Republicans who crossed the aisle to vote “yes”:

  • Liz Cheney (WY)
  • Brian Fitzpatrick (PA)
  • Anthony Gonzalez (OH)
  • Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA)
  • Chris Jacobs (NY)
  • John Katko (NY)
  • Adam Kinzinger (IL)
  • Fred Upton (MI)
  • Steve Womack (AR)

Both Cheney and Herrera Beutler lost their primaries this year. Jacobs, Gonzalez, Katko, Kinzinger, and Upton did not run for reelection.

The funding will allow lawmakers another week to finalize a yearlong omnibus funding bill. While appropriators have agreed on a framework, several days are needed to finish drafting the legislation. The entire bill is around $1.7 trillion.

The Senate is poised to consider the legislation on Thursday. Without the short-term extension, the government faces a shutdown after midnight on Friday, when current funding levels run out.

The bipartisan legislation was led by Sens. Richard Shelby (R-AL) and Patrick Leahy (D-VT) and Reps. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Kay Granger (R-TX), who is the incoming House Appropriations chairwoman.
