Suspicions around the employee arose after another worker at the Charlotte franchise said they had been given edibles on more than one occasion while receiving to-go orders, according to a report.

Others then began coming forward with similar allegations.

Customers had been given drug-laced treats and a card highlighting “Kellz Sweet Treets: The Incredible Edible” as part of their to-go orders, the report noted.

“It was a shock to realize the person was that bold to give their card, put their face out there,” one customer said.

“I’m just concerned for children that may get it, especially.”

Following the reports, agents of the Mecklenburg County Health Department performed a walk-through of the fast-food restaurant.

No unapproved items were uncovered, the department said.

“Mecklenburg County Environmental Health completed a site visit after being notified of possible edibles in takeout bags at the Red Robin located at 8304 Kenbrooke Rd,” a statement from the department read. “A complete walk through of the facility was conducted and all food items were FDA/USDA approved, no food items from any unapproved sources were found. The NC DHHS Environmental Health Section and NC Department of Agriculture were notified and provided this complaint for further consideration.”

The employee responsible has since been fired, according to Red Robin.

“Thank you for making us aware of this matter,” a company statement read.
