Jeff Flake: I hope somebody challenges Trump in 2020 primary

Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., said Sunday he hopes somebody will challenge President Trump in the 2020 Republican presidential primary as a means of reviving limited government conservatism.

During a segment of ABC’s “This Week,” the outgoing GOP lawmaker told host George Stephanopolous that the current political climate is not conducive to victory for Republican candidates who voice opposition to the current administration, as Flake himself has done many times — earning the frustration and vocal disapproval of the president.
