Hillary Clinton is planning to announce a run for president very soon, but in the meanwhile, she’s continuing to give high dollar paid speeches. The former secretary of state delivered one last week in California to woman eBay executives. And she’s got ” another on Thursday in Atlantic City before the American Camp Association,” according to the New York Times.
But the Democrat isn’t keen on spreading the wealth.
“Hillary Clinton has a growing team of strategists and advisers who are already building her all but certain presidential bid — but they have been and will be working strictly as unpaid volunteers until the campaign’s formal launch,” BuzzFeed‘s Ruby Cramer reports.
“An undisclosed number of future staffers, including those in line to serve as top aides, have worked for free ahead of an expected spring announcement.”
The exact number of unpaid staffers is not known. “It is not clear how many staffers are now working for Clinton as volunteers. … Senior and mid-level staffers for other departments, including finance and communications, have been brought onto the campaign more recently.”
Hillary Clinton has generally received anywhere from $200,000-$300,000 for paid one-hour speaking gigs.
