Baltimore County Public Schools will require all students, teachers, staff, and visitors to wear masks during the school year.
The district made the announcement Thursday morning.

“As this crisis evolves, what matters most is that we continue to prioritize in-person learning by providing appropriate health and safety guidelines that respond to the latest conditions,” said Makeda Scott, chairwoman of the Board of Education of Baltimore County.
Baltimore is following new guidelines released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday recommending that teachers, staff, and students in K-12 schools wear masks, including people who are vaccinated.
White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre recently said that the CDC changed its recommendations on masks “because not enough Americans have stepped up to get vaccinated.”
