A veteran Michigan autoworker blasted President Joe Biden on Tuesday and touted former President Donald Trump as a president who will “walk the walk” for autoworkers.
“Donald Trump came into office, tore up the NAFTA agreement, which was horrible for American autoworkers, and renegotiated the USMCA, which leveled the playing field, so it’s not as incentivized for our jobs and plants to go to Mexico,” Brian Pannebecker of Autoworkers for Trump 2024 told Bill Hemmer on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom.
Additional Trump policies, including opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska for oil drilling and seeing gas prices drop below $2 per gallon, make it clear Trump is the president autoworkers need, Pannebecker said.
Biden is the exact opposite, the nearly four-decade-long autoworker said.
“All of Biden’s policies have basically hurt autoworkers,” Pannebecker said. “He showed up for 15 minutes to walk in a picket line and get his picture taken. It was nothing more than a photo op.”
“Donald Trump walks the walk,” he added. “He doesn’t walk the picket line for a photo op and then leave.”
Despite fervent support from autoworkers such as Pannebecker, Trump failed to pick up the United Auto Workers labor union’s endorsement.
The UAW endorsed Biden, and Trump was attacked during UAW President Shawn Fain’s announcement of the decision to stand behind Biden.
“Donald Trump is a scab. Donald Trump is a billionaire, and that’s who he represents,” Fain said. “This choice is clear. Joe Biden bet on the American worker, while Donald Trump blamed the American worker. We need to know who’s going to sit in the most powerful seat in the world and help us win as a united working class. So, if our endorsements must be earned, Joe Biden has earned it.”

Following the attack, Trump derided Fain as a “Weapon of Mass Destruction on Auto Workers and the Automobile Manufacturing Industry.”
“Shawn Fain is a Weapon of Mass Destruction on Auto Workers and the Automobile Manufacturing Industry in the United States!” Trump said. “Is he under contract to China, because they will be getting almost all of our ‘Car making’ Business within a very short period of time. All Autoworkers should VOTE FOR TRUMP.”
