Actor Alec Baldwin joined Saturday Night Live yet again to reprise his role as President Trump, this time portraying him drinking his coronavirus “invincibility juice” — bleach.
SNL kicked off its season finale this weekend with a skit featuring Baldwin addressing a high school class of graduates via video conference as the president.
“You’re actually lucky to be graduating right now,” the actor said while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat. “There are so many exciting new jobs out there, like grocery store bouncer, cam girl, porch pirate, amateur nurse, and coal. Don’t forget about coal, it’s in the ground, and you just dig down and grab it.”
After telling black students, “Let’s mute a lot of the jazz types,” Baldwin’s Trump began to cough before whipping out his “good ole invincibility juice” and chugging from a bottle of bleach.
The skit comes after Trump made remarks at a coronavirus press conference in April concerning the possibility of UV light or disinfectants being used to treat the virus. The president received a great deal of pushback from critics and the media for the comments, with the White House releasing cleaning and disinfecting guidelines and saying Trump’s musing was “taken out of context.”
Baldwin’s Trump proceeded to offer the students life advice in the skit.
“Believe in yourselves and you can achieve anything. Look at me. I started as the son of a simple, wealthy slumlord and grew to become a billionaire, a president, and the world’s leading expert on infectious diseases,” he joked. “Surround yourself with the worst people you can find. That way, you’ll always shine. If you don’t understand something, just call it stupid. Never wear sunscreen and live every day like it’s your last because we’re going to let this virus run wild.”
Baldwin has been one of the most vocal Hollywood critics of Trump’s, claiming people who vote for Trump are “mentally ill.”
“Trump has reached for, and nearly gained, a control of the federal govt unrivaled by other Presidents,” the 30 Rock actor tweeted in April. “He fired huge numbers of govt professionals. He steamrolled the Congress, whenever possible. And now this. If you vote for Trump again, you are mentally ill.”
