British health minister Matt Hancock resigned a day after photos of him kissing an aide surfaced in violation of the country’s social distancing rules.
The alleged affair between Hancock and adviser Gina Coladangelo, both of whom are married, was revealed in security camera images reportedly taken from his office May 6 by a whistleblower.
“I understand the enormous sacrifices that everybody in this county has made — that you have made,” Hancock said in a video Saturday. “Those of us who make these rules have got to stick by them, and that’s why I’ve got to resign.”
