Former Ohio Democratic Congressman James Traficant has died, a family spokesman announced Saturday.
Traficant, 73, served seven years in prison for bribery and racketeering after being expelled from the House of Representatives in 2002.
The former congressman was hospitalized Tuesday after being involved in a tractor accident at his home.
Traficant served a district that included the Youngstown area. He grew up in the city and played football for the University of Pittsburgh.
He served 17 years in the House before his expulsion.
