In 10 days, the Alaska Department of Revenue will issue checks from the Permanent Fund Dividend to another swath of residents who have yet to receive their payments from the program.
Those who are set to receive their PFD payments on March 21 include Alaskans with the “Eligible-Not Paid” status as of Wednesday who have yet to get their checks for 2023 or earlier.
To be eligible for a check from the Permanent Fund Dividend program, an applicant must intend to remain a resident of Alaska indefinitely and may not be a convicted felon, among other qualifications.
Payment amounts for the Permanent Fund Dividend each year are based on the state’s annual mineral revenues for that year. The PFD check was worth $1,312 in 2023, and distribution began in October.
“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the 2023 payment. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.”
“This year, we processed over 8,000 more applications than in 2022,” Crum added. “The 2023 PFD will inject nearly $1 billion into the state’s economy and directly into the hands of Alaskans.”
