The search for the man who allegedly threatened physical harm against adult film star Stormy Daniels and her daughter seven years ago is narrowing down, her lawyer said Wednesday.
Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, released a composite sketch of the man on Tuesday.
“We released the sketch yesterday,” Michael Avenatti said on CNN. “We’ve received over 1500 leads as of a few hours ago. I would describe a couple hundred of those as credible.”
“We have an idea as to who it might be,” he added, before describing in vague detail how their “diligent” effort is following leads.
He wouldn’t say if law enforcement were involved in the search. “I’m not at liberty to state that,” Avenatti said when asked about it by host Wolf Blitzer.
Avenatti also conceded that there is a statute of limitations on the threat, but that he thinks it is “not applicable as it relates to criminal conspiracy and a couple of other crimes that could be alleged.”
The sketch shows the face of the man Daniels says threatened physical harm on her seven years ago if she ever spoke publicly about her alleged extramarital affair with President Trump.

Law enforcement experts doubt the sketch will help Daniels identify a suspect.
Trump tweeted about the sketch Wednesday morning. “A sketch years later about a nonexistent man. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!” he said.
