Trump’s ex-wife shows support at GOP convention

CLEVELAND — Donald Trump’s second wife watched her ex-husband officially become the 2016 Republican nominee for president at the Republican National Convention Tuesday night.

Minutes before Trump delivered a video address in his first formal appearance as the 2016 Republican nominee for president, Marla Maples took to Twitter to show her support for Trump and her daughter, Tiffany.

Maples and Trump divorced in 1999 after six years of marriage, but she has supported her ex-husband throughout his presidential campaign. Her appearance here comes 24 hours after Trump’s current wife, Melania, delivered remarks that quickly became the subject of controversy after they appeared to have been partially lifted from a speech by Michelle Obama in 2008.

Tiffany and Trump’s eldest son, Donald Jr., both addressed the convention crowd Tuesday evening.
