Q: Has “The Chicago Code” been renewed? I think it’s a good show with a great cast. Thank you. — Patricia, 71, Plum, Pa.
Rob Owen: Despite some hopeful signs — at least one Fox executive tweeted his fondness for the show on a regular basis and the network had scheduled reruns to air over the summer — “The Chicago Code” was canceled last week due to low ratings.
Q: How are the ratings for “30 Rock” this year? Is there a chance it will be canceled? The recent hourlong episode has to be the worst one yet. The show has rarely been funny this year. Am I the only one who has noticed this?
— Amerigo, 47, Moon, Pa.
Rob: Ratings have not been great for “30 Rock,” but that’s true for most of NBC’s Thursday-night comedies. “30 Rock” has already been renewed for the 2011-12 TV season.
I wasn’t wild about that hourlong episode, but I have enjoyed other episodes this season and think it’s generally been a stronger season this year than in the 2009-10 TV season.
Q: When is “Damages” with Glenn Close returning?
— Shirley, 82, Monongahela, Pa.
Rob: “Damages” will be back sometime this summer on DirecTV, but a premiere date has not been announced. The show will be available only on DirecTV’s Channel 101 — at least initially. I’m sure at some point DirecTV will sell reruns to a cable network, but that might not be for some time.
Q: What happened to the new “Clean House” shows with Tempestt Bledsoe as the host? I think I saw four or five of them, but it’s mostly all repeats with Niecy Nash. Did the concept wear out?
— Melanie, East Pittsburgh
Rob: New episodes are airing Wednesday at 10 p.m. on Style. On June 29, the “Messiest House in the Country” two-hour special will air.
