Trump to attend Davos in 2019

President Trump will mix with government and business leaders early next year at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced Tuesday the U.S. delegation attending the summit, set to take place from Jan. 22 to Jan. 25, would be led by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

Trump declared that America was “open for business” when he addressed the forum last year, while also promoting his “America First” approach to foreign and economic policy. He was the first sitting U.S. president to travel to Davos for the ritzy gathering since former President Bill Clinton in 2000.

“The world is witnessing the resurgence of a strong and prosperous America,” Trump said at the time. “America is open for business, and we are competitive once again.”

Trump and Mnuchin will be joined on the 2019 trip by White House advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, as well as a host of cabinet secretaries, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen.
