Republican Missouri secretary of state candidate Valentina Gomez lost out big in Tuesday night’s primary and was poised to finish sixth out of eight GOP contenders.
State Sen. Denny Hoskins won the Republican primary with just under 25% of the vote with nearly 98% of ballots counted.
Gomez gained notoriety on the trail for controversial acts and remarks, including telling voters in a video she posted “not to be weak or gay” while running with a weighted vest on. She secured just over 7% of the vote.
