Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) cited the harrowing Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse earlier this year in a speech centered on perseverance and unity around Vice President Kamala Harris.

Moore called Harris the “MVP” and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) his “brother.” He also cited his and Walz’s military backgrounds, even taking a dig at former President Donald Trump by saying, unlike Trump, he didn’t have “bone spurs,” referring to Trump’s condition that kept him out of the Vietnam War.

Moore is considered a rising star in the Democratic Party who was lauded for his work reacting to the bridge collapse and getting the Port of Baltimore reopened.
