‘Fiery hello’: Ukraine credits tip for successful attack on Russian convoy

Ukraine successfully attacked a Russian convoy of vehicles in its capital city of Kyiv on Tuesday after receiving a public tip via the encrypted messaging app Telegram.

The Security Service of Ukraine, the country’s top law enforcement agency, announced that it targeted the Russian vehicles through messages containing location coordinates on a Telegram bot account called STOP Russian War.

“Your messages about the movement of the enemy through the official chatbot, ‘STOP Russian War’ bring new trophies every day,” the Ukrainian government agency tweeted, noting the photo’s “fiery ‘hello’ to the occupiers.”

The Security Service of Ukraine is also using technology to battle cyberwarfare.
