Former President Donald Trump claimed that Haitian migrants resettled in Springfield, Ohio, were killing and eating household pets, including cats and ducks, despite local officials finding no evidence of the abductions.
Trump doubled down on the statement, first shared by his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), on social media, at his first and likely only debate against Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday evening, adding that he intended to “find” the people he claimed were abusing the animals.
