Tim Scott throws his name in for NRSC chairman

    Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has been making calls to Republican members expressing his interested in chairing the National Republican Senatorial Committee, according to Punchbowl News.

    The current chairman, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), was elected in 2022. The likely favorite, Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO), withdrew his name earlier this morning. Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) also withdrew her name from consideration.
