Mark Levin slams critical race theory and its connection to Marxism, says ideology is here now and ‘in your face’

Fox News host Mark Levin took aim at Marxism in a fiery segment, arguing that the rise of critical race theory was another example of Marxist ideologies becoming mainstream in the United States.

“Critical race theory is not about learning the history of America. It is not about learning slavery and segregation. It’s not about learning about neo-Nazis and the klan. It is about a Marxist movement, invented by the Marxists, Herbert Marcuse, Derrick Bell, and many, many others. And it attracts Marxists like Black Lives Matter founders, two or three of them already said they were Marxists. And that’s not a coincidence,” Levin said during his Fox News show on Sunday.

Levin then detailed the evolution of Marxist theory from the Latino/Chicano movement, critical gender theory, and transgenderism to the calls to end capitalism, arguing all the movements make clear that “the white dominant American society must go.”

“All these forces and more, these are spawned from the notion of Marxism. This is not a passing fad. It’s not liberalism. It’s not ‘oh, there’s the old Democrat Party.’ No, no, no. This is here. This is now, and it’s in your face,” Levin said.

Critical race theory has generated renewed controversy in recent months, with some lawmakers seeking to ban the teaching of the theory in public schools and in the military over concerns that it is divisive and anti-American. Levin, who said the theory is a “neo-racist” ideology, argued the theory seeks to dismantle capitalism and meritocracy.

Levin then argued that people have to confront Marxism in every form, making clear that it is a failed ideology.

“Tell me: Where on the face of the Earth has Marxism worked? Where on the face of the Earth has Marxism not ended up in the slaughtering of tens of millions of people? The imprisonment of tens of millions of people? The silencing of hundreds of millions of people?” Levin asked. “Is that really what we want in the greatest nation on the face of the Earth?”
