The National Republican Senatorial Committee raised over $7.2 million last month, giving the group a financial boost ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
NRSC Chairman Rick Scott, a senator from Florida, announced on Tuesday that the committee brought in about $3 million more in April than it did last year, when it raised $4.5 million. The NRSC also raised more than $15 million online in 2021, which is about 50% of its total contributions.

“The significant jump in first-time donors in April proves that Americans are ready to reject the open borders, anti-family, high-tax plans from Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Senate Democrats. It’s clear the energy is with Senate Republicans and our pro-family, pro-America agenda. The NRSC’s work to defeat Senate Democrats’ radical ideas is just beginning, and we are in the best position to win the fight next November,” Scott said in a statement.
The number of first-time donors doubled from February and March, and more than $3 million of campaign cash raised in April came from 125,000 donations under $200, the NRSC reported.
Overall, the NRSC said it has over $`14.2 million in funds and no debt.

The committee’s Democratic counterpart, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, hasn’t released fundraising numbers for April yet, but it outraised the NRSC in March by almost $1 million.
The Senate is currently split 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats (along with the two independents who caucus with them), allowing Vice President Kamala Harris to be the tiebreaker.
